There is a ton of information about Kobe beef in this exhibition. This establishment not only lets you sample Kobe beef grilled on a teppan by a chef right in front of you, but it also gives restaurant recommendations.

Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum
Takenaka Carpenter’s Tools Museum, the only museum dedicated to carpenter’s tools in Japan, was established in 1984. Its mission is to gather, preserve, and share these rapidly disappearing items with future generations through study and exhibitions.

Now, let’s go a little bit further, to the Sannomiya/Motomachi Station area.
It takes only 10 minutes on foot from the furnished monthly apartment to Sannomiya Station, and if you take a bus from the nearby bus stop “Kanocho 2-chome”, you will be at Sannomiya in no time.
There are many art exhibitions and museums stretching from the Sannomiya/Motomachi area to the sea.
Kobe City Museum
The area around the Kobe City Museum was once a foreign settlement. The museum building was converted from the former Kobe branch building of the Yokohama Seikin Bank (now Mitsubishi UFJ Bank), completed in 1935. It is a neoclassical building with Doric columns in the front, and is considered a masterpiece of the early Showa period. In 1998, it became a registered cultural property. The museum is a great place to experience the history of Kobe.

Port of Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park
The exhibition in this memorial park includes models, videos, and photo panels documenting the damage to the Port of Kobe and the process of restoration, allowing visitors to see up close and feel firsthand the severity of the earthquake.
It was one of the venues for Luminarie, which was held last year for the first time in many years.

Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art
It was created as a symbol of cultural recovery from the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake that occurred on January 17, 1995. The museum is a future-oriented, interactive, international exchange center. The buildings alone are worth seeing, with Tadao Ando’s architecture representing Japan.

Yokoo Tadanori Museum of Contemporary Art
